Private Practice Star Kate Walsh Reaches Divorce Settlement

Actress Kate Walsh, best known for her starring role on ABC’s “Private Practice,” has settled her divorce with her ex-husband.

For 15 months Walsh was married to Alex Young, a television executive for FOX. Their marriage ended when Young filed for divorce claiming the couple suffered from irreconcilable differences. Walsh counter-filed shortly after citing the same grounds.

While celebrity divorces are nothing new or interesting, what is interesting is how Walsh and Young plan to divide their joint property. While Young will receive a one-time payment of $627,000 from Walsh, along with half of the money she earned during their marriage, the remainder of their assets will be divided by alternating picks. The couple plans to flip a coin to determine who will pick first.  

The only assets that will not be divided this way are the couple’s home and a piano, which will go to Walsh.
